Logistics Assistant

Job description:

We are looking for a capable Logistics Assistant to assist our Supply Chain Manager with the day-to-day tasks associated with procurement, purchasing administration and shipment of goods. This role includes administration and practical tasks associated with the warehouse side of the business. As this is a broad and varied role it needs someone who can handle a wide range of tasks, is a fast learner and willing to take on additional responsibilities.

Main duties:

  • Placing and expediting Purchase Orders
  • Pulling kits of material to send to sub-contactors
  • Archiving delivery paperwork
  • Updating due dates for receipts
  • Communicating delivery requirement tot sub-contractors
  • Arranging shipments of goods
  • Receipting/booking in goods
  • Labelling and identifying goods
  • Moving material to stock locations
  • Packing and shipping goods
  • Inventory control/stock counts/system transactions
  • Ensuring the workshop is clean and itdy
  • Updating our system with delivery commits form suppliers
  • Scanning and filing delivery paperwork
  • Preparation of supporting documentation
  • General office administration e.g. answering calls/taking deliveries

Essential Candidate requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent IT skills with knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Fast learner
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player with "can-do" attitude
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Permit to work in the UK
  • Flexible approach

Advantageous knowledge/experience:

  • Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Navision
  • Forklift experience, a current licence/training

What you can Expect in Return:

  • This is a fixed term contract to the end of November 2023, there may be an opportunity to extend
  • Full time Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary of £24,000 per annum
