About the BMA


The British Medical Association (BMA) is the trade union and professional body for doctors in the UK. We represent, support and negotiate on behalf of all UK doctors and medical students.


It has a prominent and influential position at the very heart of current debate over the future of healthcare provision.


This is a hybrid role with a mix of working at BMA House in Central London and at home.


About the role


We are looking for a Library and Archive, Technical Officer to join the BMA’s library and evidence support team. Working closely with the systems specialist and with colleagues across the department, you will support the provision of a full range of systems and resources in the library and the delivery of high-quality user-facing services for members and researchers.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Experience of working in a library and delivering support to staff and customers.
  • Experience of delivering IT support to colleagues and customers alongside broad technical skills within Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organisation and multi-tasking abilities.
  • The ability to quickly learn new systems and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
